Turbo Vs. Supercharger Video

Supercharges use an air compressor to improve engine combustion, whereas a turbocharge engine recycles the engines exhaust. Learn how turbochargers and supercharges increase horsepower and also provide greater fuel efficiency in this free video from an automotive industry writer and editor.

Supercharger? ALL the way.

oh but wait, you get additional power for free, after you drop a bit of money for? your turbo and all the s**t for it.

This is the WORST ...
This is the WORST explanation of? a turbocharger i have ever heard from someone featured on an Automotive-dedicated channel!

"Exotic ...
"Exotic technologies". Because supercharging an engine with the use of a turbine isn't difficult enough for some people. The maths involved with? converting a naturally aspired engine to turbocharged, or to design a new one from scratch, are extremely complex. It'd be probably easier to use some more "exotic technologies", like changing the A/F ratio, the fuel that's used, or by installing a nitrous oxide injector.

Turbo it is?

if you want someone ...
if you want someone to change, you must? be the 1st one to accept change, why should you expect ppl to change when you won't!

ppl complaining ...
ppl complaining about them pronouncing things when you the listener are too dumb to compensate for their dialect of English, hell, im not the smartest person in the world, but when? im looking up a video about super and turbo charging, and i hear what i think is turban, then my brain automatically converts it to the context its being used in eg dude talking about turbo's "the turban spins up" what my brain sees/hears it as "the turbine spins up" no need for them to change when you can!

Turbocharging is ...
Turbocharging is not 100% "free" power as many think. A supercharger has parasitic lag on the engine due to its belt drive system. A turbocharger isn't connected to the engine; its mounted in the exhaust stream. But since your exhaust would be higher flowing without a turbocharger in the way, that is an inefficiency similar? to a supercharger giving up some power to make power.

Thank? you for ...
Thank? you for clearing it up for me

@nazeemfasil YES ...
@nazeemfasil YES THEY DO!!!!!! They are forced air induction kits whereas turbochargers just get their power from exhaust pressure. God, now I have to explain to another fool who skipped school.?

That sounds like a ...
That sounds like a cool idea. I sincerely hope that works on a Vauxhall Corsa's 1.0? litre engine.

Superchargers? do ...
Superchargers? do not compress air !!!

The problem with ...
The problem with your thinking is? that S/C requires power to make power. If you have a tiny engine with s**tty power output (like a 4 banger civic) go turbo. If you've got a big (3.5L+) V6 or a V8, getting supercharged could work. Or turbo'd. Bigger engines have more choices.. smaller ones should go turbo. It's free power.

it depends on what ...
it depends on what car you have. If you have a car thats turns extreme rpms. Buy a supercharger (because a supercharger is belt driven).If you dont? turn as much RPMS buy a turbo.

If that were the case he would have mentioned a twin turbo setup but if you listen to the part I linked to in my comment and just before that he says "A" turbocharger and "A" turbin.. also my comment was meant to be? laughed at, not to troll him. be easy man.

The turbo is more eficient on small? machines (v4, v6), and supercharger on big ones, just my opinion

@TommyCaff7 "when ...
@TommyCaff7 "when will americans learn how to pronounce turbine" A better question would be, why are you so willing to display your own ignorance of pronunciation? The Random House Dictionary, The World ENGLISH Dictionary, the American Heritage Dictionary, and ---wait on it--- Oxford ENGLISH Dictionary... all not only list both? pronunciations as acceptable, but list his (i.e., soft-"i") *first*. Look 'em up, very easy to do And while you're at it, learn to familiarize before you criticize
